Since democrats have shown that reconciliation are good for anything, how about impeachment?

Usually an article of impeachment requires a super majority in the senate but since the Democrats have shown the republicans the way and the process of how to jam things through without the right number of votes could this be used for an article of impeachment?|||Ohhhhhhh... hmmmmm that would be worth looking into!





I mean they said that the republicans had done it in the past and obviously two wrongs make a right so what about this time?





You might be on to something there!|||1. If I am mistaken, reconciliation can only be used with items that affect the budget. Impeachment would not be one of them.





2, Given the political climate in America, I want the standard for impeachment to remain high. I don't want an election overturned, Democrat or Republican, just because a number of people don't like the guy. I am content with the "high crimes and misdomeanors" standard as set forth by the Constitution.|||No. The Democrats have introduced NOTHING new in terms of reconciliation. The Republicans have used it dozens of times when they were in power. They have NOT shown that it can be used for anything (if that is what you are trying to say with that horrible sentence), they used it only for particular parts of the legislation for which it is legitimate.





Impeachment does not fall under the budgetary categories for which reconciliation applies.|||Now that works for me, I think that 0bama has done enough damage to our country that if the congress does its job, there's enough material there that would support impeachment. The American People are just going to have to show those people in Washington that they will not tolerate having their wishes ignored. The American People have gotten lazy and have allowed their representatives in both houses of congress to forget that they are elected to office and work for the people that elected them. Its going to take the ouster of all of those in both house that failed to heed the wishes of the American People to send a good strong message so that this does not ever happen again.
