The governor today says that a conspiracy of the Democratic and Republican parties in Illinois are behind his impeachment. Will he take down Obama with him, or will he move from being simply an Illinois joke to a national farce?|||President Obama has already distanced himself from his detractors by miles. All of the 'swift boaters' are out of gas, out of ammo and out of luck. The right wing radio nitwits keep going on about 'socialism' and 'surrender' and 'closing Gitmo' and all of that silliness that actually lost them the respect of the entire world....not to mention an election. The ditto-heads still eat this BS up, but everyday that goes by the GOP's Ministry of Propaganda sounds evermore goofy even to many republicans. Closing Guantanamo....nobody has suggested that these guys should be 'let go'.....just that the prison there should be closed. Also the US is holding close to 25,000 people in prisons in Iraq and Afghanistan and there's no talk about them being released into the wild. What's been suggested is that prisoners here should be processed according to US law, not the cobbled together mess that the Bush Junta put together. That's the problem with right wing propaganda.....they tell people a fraction of the truth, which is the say thing a telling a lie. Obama will do a good job, and if not it won't be for lack of trying. No kiddin'!|||I doubt if it's going to affect Obama in any significant way.|||About as much as a tree falling in an isolated forest will affect Obama's effectiveness.|||All politicians from Illinois are dirty. Barack is no exception.|||I hope Blago takes down as many Illinois politicians as possible, Democrat, Republican, whatever.
We have a feudal system in Illinois and it makes me want to vomit. Hell if Blago takes down Richard M Daley, then I would advocate for his pardoning and reinstatement as governor.|||No affect at all.|||the Chicago machine will probably send him on a secret mission to find Jimmy Hoffa!
