Impeachment Process of President of the United States?

In an impeachment trial, what is the role of the chief justice of the U.S. Supreme Court? How is this role related to the separation of powers and the role of the three branches of government?|||/ Impeachment of a U.S. President is handled by the Office of the Independent Council (not the Supreme Court). Then the Congress is required to vote. Of both sides of Congress Impeach, the President is Impeached. Nixon left office on his own before the vote.

Bill Clinton stuck around and was Impeached by one half of Congress, and barely made it by a couple of votes from the other half.|||The impeachment process applies not only to the president but also to other federal officers although not members of congress. The House of Representatives first "impeaches" a person for "high crimes and misdemeanors." Then the Senate may convict the person, thus removing them from their office. When meeting to try a person who has been impeached by the House, the Senate is presided over by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. This is related to the system of checks and balances among the three branches of government, in that the legislative branch can impeach members of the executive branch and the judiciary. And, as a member of the judicial branch the chief justice takes part in this check on the executive but also since the impeachment process can be used against judges, the chief justice can represent some check on a legislature that is overly aggressive in pursuing impeachments against the judiciary. Another answer mentioned special counsel. This is not part of the constitutional process, but there may have been an investigation along the way that led to the impeachment and it may or may not have involved a special counsel/prosecutor. I hope this helps you.|||The separation of powers no longer exists because You have organizations such as the Council on Foreign Relations who absolves that separation.|||Explailn to us all exactly why in the hell you refuse to READ THE DAMN CONSTITUTION.

Will it bite you?

Will you turn into a frog?

Will monsters get you?

Seriously.

I want to know.

I ask this question all the time and no one has yet had the balls to answer it.

Go ahead.

We're waiting.
