Why is it so difficult to remove a President through impeachment?

A major obstacle is if the Presidents political party controls either the House and/or Senate. It can be very difficult to get a majority vote for impeachment and conviction in any event. But if the President has party support, it can be nearly impossible if they are the majority in either chamber.

Another is, unless it is a serious criminal violation of the constitution, or abuse of office, the public, who elected him/her generally doesn't readily support it.

Probably the biggest obstacle, is the constitution doesn't define "high crimes and misdemeanors" for which a President can be impeached by the House, or removed from office by the Senate|||because of the charges needed to be proven to impeach someone which keeps whiner from calling for impeachment just because a president blew his nose the wrong way|||Because it's a big deal.
