Impeachment???

How does impeachment of congress members or president effect the term limit process?|||I'm not sure I know what you are asking.

If, for example, a president was impeached and removed from office the VP would take over and be sworn in as president.

If there were LESS than two years left of the term the new president could be elected twice which would be a total of eight to ten years.

If there were MORE than two years left of the term then he could only be elected once more for a total of between six and eight years.|||it doesn't|||There does not seem to be any precedent so it is unclear|||i dont think it does|||There are no term limits for Congressmen.

The President is subject to the rules of the 26th Amendment.

Not sure what you are asking?|||i dont think it does.|||look up the definition of the word impeachment. you will be sooooo suprised at what it means. do it now stop reading and look it up.|||To impeach something or someone means to discredit and remove. To no longer hold anything true from that source.|||it doesnt, impeachment doesnt remove a person from office it just means they basically got in trouble for something|||It doesn't. A successor will come up in their place until the next elections.|||If someone is impeached (this happens in the House), they are then tried by the Senate. If they are convicted on the impeachment charges, they lose their office (and may then face criminal charges in the courts). Their seat will be filled, and the remainder of their term served, as specified by law.|||If you put your mind back to Bill Clinton and the " Land Purchasing Incident". The Republicans wanted to impeach Bill; however he was already past the two year position in his second tenure; this meant that if Bill resigned as the "Pres", Al Gore would of been the "Pres". The Republicans did not fancy the Democrats in power for another 10 years, so they didn't follow through with the impeachment!!!!!|||It doesn't. If someone gets impeached another is appointed to finish out their term.
