Impeachment?

Can someone please explain to me why Bush has not been impeached yet. And, is there a constitutional law he has not broken yet?|||OK. Reality check time.

Impeachment is not going to happen. Not with about a year left in Bush's term. Especially in an election year, when it would obviously be seen as politically-motivated. Since Cheney is not running, and Bush has no legacy politically in this race, the Republicans and Democrats are just writing off the last year of his presidential term.

You realistically could not move to impeach BOTH Bush and Cheney. IF Bush were impeached and removed, then Cheney becomes president. Now THERE is a Democratic nightmare of their own making. The Congress all must seek re-election, so they don't need to spend three or four months back in Washington , attending committee meetings about impeachment, and giving speeches and answering questions on that subject from every reporter in the Capitol.

IF the Democrats were foolish enough to listen to the far leftist hotheads of their party, and devote the next year to this subject, there is NOTHING that would get through the legislative agenda in the House and Senate, because they don't have the votes right now to move anything through without some accommodations with House and Senate Republicans.

The Democrats will wait out the outcome of November, 2008, and strive to win back the White House, where they seek to institute new leadership.|||Impeached for what? Name me a law that he has broken?|||status quo...........lame duck him.

quite embarrassing if you ask me.|||I doesn't matter anyway. Clinton, Bush....we're one in the same! Once Bush leaves and I take over the CFR will have one of their own in office for 8 of the last ten presidential terms. 8 more more years with me ought to be enough to render in the New World Order!!!|||Impeachment is a vote of the legislators, not a trial. When congress wants to impeach someone it can, they clearly do not. If you disagree, let them know.|||He's broken plenty of laws and violated the Constitution. Problem is, Bush and his cronies have buried the evidence under layers of endless secrecy--that by the time we get around to convicting him on war crimes, he'll be dead.|||%26gt;%26gt; Can someone please explain to me why Bush has not been impeached yet.

No credible evidence of an impeachable offense.

%26gt;%26gt;And, is there a constitutional law he has not broken yet?

All of them.|||Dems don't have the necessary votes to make that happen.

Reps are way to partisan to consider that.

Remember, there were some dems who voted to impeach Clinton for lying about a "you know what."

But reps wouldn't dream of impeaching one of their own that many, including myself, regards as a mass murderer.

I do, however, think the dems are ball-less in this regard. They should be hamming Bush with everything in the book to assure that no one like him ever holds any higher office then sewage disposal.

Now Bush is a legless duck, not lame, but it appears without any legs at all.

.|||Because he is his daddy's puppet. Just look at who is pulling daddy's strings and follow the Bush/Clinton dynasty.|||I think a president has to commit a very serious crime in order to be impeached. Granted, there are many folks who disagree with his policies regarding the war and the economy, but I don't think he is guilty of any impeachable crimes. Besides, it is never a good idea to impeach a president in the midst of a war. That would empower the enemy, and the United States would lose a lot of support from other nations, as well as respect. Let's let Bush finish out his term. I think he really tries his best, but sometimes even the best is not quite good enough. While I did not vote for Bush, I admire him as a person. I think a lot of people have misjudged his character, which is unfair. And this is from me -- a staunch democrat. Fooled you, didn't I?|||It's quite simple. During his terms as President, he has not broken any laws , Constitutional or otherwise. He cannot be impeached for lying because he has never lied, regardless of what you may have read, Otherwise, he would have been impeached long ago.

FYO - Only two Presidents have actually been impeached (brought to trial).

1. President Andrew Johnson. He was acquitted.

2.President William Clinton. He was convicted of purjury (lying) and subsequently disbarred. This conviction would have sent anyone else to prison for a minimum of ten years.

President Richard Nixon was going to be impeached (and probably would have been convicted), but he resigned before anything occurred|||Can someone please explain to me why people are still taking cheap shots at Bush like they're doing something novel?

Go circle jerk with your whiny ***** liberal friends in private about how horrible Bush is|||He hasn't broken the law. He has just made some really idiotic choices.|||We heard this same crap about Clinton 9 years ago, now its Bush's turn. Would all of you people please stop listening to the Big Networks Spin Machines. Its a wonder we ever accomplish anything in this country - if CNN were operating during WWII we would have quit right after Dday. This country is self destructing from both ends of the political sprectrum.|||It's really mystery to me why he has NOT been impeached yet (Bush and Cheney)..Btw to first answer "what laws has he broken???" Do a google search my friend bush is a CRIMINAL in every sense of the word and should face time for it.
