Impeachment?

It is difficult to know if we should be backing the amnesty bill or fighting it. It is so extensive and far reaching that even our politicians does not understand it. I tried to read through it on the internet and they started to read it on CSPAN but Senator Reid stopped the reading. There are some good things but there are some terrible things in the bill. Most politicians say they have not had time to fully study the bill. If it is passed is it possible to impeach senators and congressmen? Some will sell our nation and our freedom for support from big business. We should start enforcing our current laws and take time to study the need for updating and need for changes and do them right the first time; once done it is almost impossible to reverse the problems created. How can we impeach now; not wait for the next election but get the bad politicians out of office as soon as possible!|||Mary B: That is a broad, broad generalization! I know of no one who supports the bill.

I would love to impeach many people from this administration but it takes so much time and the terms will be over before it could come to pass.

The best thing for the public to do now is to elect people to office who have the good of the nation at heart.....not how to fill their pockets at our expense. As a nation we should come together instead of fighting over things that really don't matter in the long run (morals cannot be legislated).

We are a nation of laws not of people. Follow the laws.|||Not going to happen. Most people support the bill and amnesty...even here in Arizona.|||I don't know where you are going with this. There are no grounds for impeachment. The bill runs hundreds of pages, even the authors don't know what is in it.|||1st of all Impeached does not mean removed, Impeached means accused.

2 Presidents were Impeached but aquitted (not removed) which were Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton.

The House of Representatives impeaches the President, then the Senate votes on Guilty or not Guilty and, at least 67 Senators must vote Guilty in order for the impeached President to be removed.

For instance in the Clinton case 1 Article of Impeachment had 50 Guilty votes and 50 Not Guilty votes well the vote from Senator Arlen Spector was not a Not Guilty but rather it was a Not Proven but it was counted as Not Guilty).

The other article had 55 Guilty votes so a majority of the Senators did feel that Clinton was Guilty of one of the Articles and should be removed, but 12 more votes were needed to warrant a removal.

It would be a waste of time to even try removing Bush because we know at least half the Senate would vote Not Guilty (49 Republicans and Independent Joe Liebermann).|||http://impeachforpeace.org
